Hey Banco is a 100% Mexican digital bank that serves a predominantly young consumer base of digital natives. Hey Banco’s value proposition redefines banking by offering a complete, hyper-convenient, and customizable banking experience in an app.
As a completely digital bank, Hey Banco has no physical bank branches. While this makes it possible to transform savings in operations into high-yield rates for interest-based products, fostering a relationship and dialogue with clients is not without its challenges. Hey Banco places great emphasis on customization as part of its value proposition, and this extends to the look and feel of its banking cards.
Hey Banco’s creative consulting partner, Brands&People, is a brand-centric company focused on mobilizing commercial brands in Latin America. Brands&People took the lead in both creative and design direction for the bank’s communications strategy, and proposed the launch of Hey Banco’s 2021 Design Collection as part of the brand’s call to ‘wake up your finances and discover your financial independence’. Through this call, the brand seeks to help people understand, control and improve their financial status, disrupting a long tradition of personal finance as a burden.

Hey Banco es un banco 100% digital mexicano que atiende a una base de consumidores predominantemente jovenes nativos digitales. La propuesta de valor de Hey Banco redefine la banca al ofrecer una experiencia bancaria completa, muy conveniente y personalizable en una app.
Como banco completamente digital, Hey Banco no tiene sucursales bancarias físicas. Si bien esto hace posible transformar los ahorros en las operaciones en tasas de alto rendimiento para los productos basados en intereses, fomentar una relación y un diálogo con los clientes no está exento de desafíos.

Hey Banco pone gran énfasis en la personalización como parte de su propuesta de valor, y esto se extiende a la apariencia de sus tarjetas bancarias.
La Colección de Diseño 2021 de Hey Banco se lanzó como parte del llamado de Hey Banco para "despertar sus finanzas y descubrir su independencia financiera". A través de esta convocatoria, la marca busca ayudar a las personas a comprender, controlar y mejorar su estado financiero, interrumpiendo una larga tradición de finanzas personales como una carga. Además de brindar a los clientes información clara y productos bancarios innovadores, Hey Banco quería romper con el estándar predecible y aburrido que los bancos tradicionales tienen para sus tarjetas.

In addition to providing customers with clear information, and innovative banking products, Hey Banco wanted to break with the predictable and boring standard that traditional banks have for their cards.
With this in mind, Hey Banco offers 5 exclusive, limited edition designs that range from a simple and sophisticated all-black matte card, to a vibrant neon, and colorful gradients with a holographic finish. In addition to the design itself, we proposed changes to the information layout, sending all card information, except the customer’s name, to the back, allowing the card design to own the spotlight.
One of the greatest challenges in making Hey Banco’s 2021 Design Collection a reality was selecting the correct materials to achieve the intended visual effect. After a series of prototypes, we selected Hololam as the material for this limited edition. Hololam brings a responsive quality to the card, making its appearance almost chameleonic, adapting to changes in ambient lighting.
By combining these unique design elements with the option to customize the way their name appears on the card, Hey Banco’s customers can truly make their dual debit and credit cards an extension of their personality.

Brands&People and Hey Banco were honored in Fast Company’s Innovation by Design Awards for 2021 in the Latin America category. Celebrating 10 years of Innovation by Design, the 2021 honorees include nearly 600 projects, products, and services from Nike, Verizon, Microsoft, and others.
